I went to the Martin Luther King, Jr. monument in 2009 when it was just a marker. So much has changed since then ...

For me the change is quite pronounced ... I no longer live in US.

What started out as 9 months in Cairo has turned into 3 years living in Egypt and traveling extensively. Awesome.

Just a little something for this Monday. Something I just discovered a few days ago: 8tracks. Mixtapes galore. Love that. Music curated by people who love music - like you. Since I just found out about 8tracks, I haven't added to the 'mix' - yet. Oh, but I'm thinking of something real nice ... you guys will be the first to know about my 8tracks mixtape.

Meanwhile there's a lot to keep me busy for a while.

I discovered this webbie via Delicious on my iPad. The layout of Delicious on the Safari browser on the iPad is different - at least it is to me. And I like that I've been able to discover lots of new links this way - not the most efficient use of my time, but I'm getting lots of info and inspiration.

What caught my attention was 'mixtapes' in the title. I love, love, love a good mixtape. Though the truth is that Gigawatt is not a mixtape in its true form complete (imho) w/some blending of tracks and scratching. What Gigawatt is is a curated list of music.

Gigawatt is kinda cool in that it's another way for me to discover - this time music and artists that may not have been on my radar, but those artists are mixed along side artists that I'm already familiar with like Atmosphere, Talib Kweli, Talking Heads, etc.

Also, the illustrations on the page is uber cool.

Music Monday 61 :: DJ Jazzy Jeff & Mick Boogie's "Summertime: The Mixtape"

I'm just now getting around to actually listening to this project (after I was reminded by a tweet on Twitter). This collabo from DJ Jazzy Jeff and Mick Boogie is just good music.

But I was unable to immediately find the link. Then when I did see it, I realized that I'd already downloaded it. Silly me.

So now, I am sharing the love. You need to get this one and there's no excuses because it's FREE.

Music Monday 51 :: Workout Mixtape

I've been seeking out some music to use for my workout. I had a hard time nailing down the tunes that would work best, but I think that you will like it. It's about 30 minutes.

For this workout mixtape, I decided to kick up the tempo, so don't be alarmed if the songs sound faster than normal. The good news is that the artists don't sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks.

So here's to getting fit and fabulous. Let me know what you think.
